The Navajo of Canyon De Chelly
The following photographs are of my friends, The Dine' or Navajo people of Canyon De Chelly Arizona. This kind, gentle and spiritual people have allowed me to photograph their children and Elders in an unprecedented act of kindness and trust.
The ancestors of the Dine' which in Navajo means "The People" were the "Anasazi". The Anasazi built the cliff dwellings throughout the Western States that remain today as part of the mystery of their disappearance around 1300a.d.
Please take the time to enjoy each and every photograph of these beautiful people
My sincere thanks to my good friends Travis Terry, Native Flute player and Ronnie Yoe my faithful Canyon Guide, and the Canyon De Chelly Inn in Chinle Arizona and of coarse The National Park Service.
